Finding Yourself And Moving Ahead In Uncertain Times

First: Go somewhere where you can be alone, settle in and take a few deep breaths, relax. Think back to a time you felt successful and powerful, remember your dreams, regain you individuality, call old friends from school and recall your roots. Get back in touch with who you are as a human being. Remember when you had dreams and no fear, when everything was possible. Bath yourself in those emotions and heal yourself. Reclaim your individuality, your personal power, you're I can do anything attitude.

Second: Dump your limitations and your conditions! It doesn't make any difference what you are doing or how much you are making or where you are doing it. All of your ego needs are sabotaging your belief system and your chances for success. Get rid of all of your preconditions. They will only stop you from achieving your goals.

Third: The true evil in the world is FEAR! Your fear of failure, your fear of embarrassment, your fear of what other people will think and how they will judge you. Fear stands for "False, Evidence, Appearing, Real"

Fourth: Assess your Strengths, do an analysis of your skills, and talents. Make a list of alternate career opportunities. Make a list of all the people you know. Qualify your list based on who might help you and whom you have the best relationship with. Put together a target list of prospective employers. Decide which employers you would like to work for, and why, pull up their web sites and dig out any information you can get. Create a plan that will highlight the skills and talents you have that can make a difference for your target companies. Develop a clear vision as to your goal. Read your goals five times twice a day, every day until you can see it clearly and you own it. Contact your target company list several times a week; it's ok to become a nuisance. Remember it's the squeaky wheel that gets greased. Visualize your goal being achieved include a time and a date and plan a celebration for that day.

Fifth: Avoid people who bring you down, who criticize and find fault. Remember misery loves company. Look for successes no matter how small and celebrate them everyday, this will rebuild your self-confidence and self esteem. Make a small list everyday of what you are going to accomplish and do it.

Sixth: You are at war and losing is not an option. This is a time for personal responsibility, hard work, deep thought and most of all absolute commitment to yourself. Remember if you can't take care of yourself you will be unable to take care of your family. This is when clarity of vision and a supportive family mean the most.

In summary, you are what you think, so don't allow the fear of other people and the publicity of the press to influence your vision and your self-confidence.
